My Husband

a heart of gold that none can compare.
a tender love that removes despair.

strong arms that embrace and hold on tight.
beautiful eyes that reflect the darkest night.

a smile that lights up any room.
a laugh that puts me out of a gloom.

tender kisses that put my mind at ease.
sweet voice that serenades me fast asleep.

He's that greatest blessing in my life.
And I'm so lucky to be his wife....

Been a busy day....

Oh man! I have been bustin' the past two days! Thanks to Pinterest, I have found SO many ideas to decorate my house! And that is EXACTLY what I have been doing! I went out with my neighbor and we went to the tiny shops all around Lawrenceburg. Dollar stores, Goodwill and Walmart were the three biggies.
I picked up an assortment of odds and ends. Several picture frames, a couple of cheap vases, fake flowers, grocery items, lots of paint, scrap book paper, and a book by Charles Grodin. Haha, yeah thats the guy from Beethoven =). I came home and INSTANTLY set to work on what would soon become my newly decorated home! I'll post pictures when my camera charges :). They are wonderful. Afterward I had a lovely movie marathon with none other than Joey :).
We watched the Break Up and Somethings Gotta Give. We have had a slightly emotional week filled with some family stuff and needed to watch something to make us laugh. We put these in so we could have a good time and know how much we have and how much we appreciate each other.
We stayed up until 5 am watching these movies, painting, and eating pizza bagels. I cant believe I did it, but I did. We then took our lethargic, gluttonous tushes to bed!!

Upon waking up, it was back to work. I had to break on my crafting stuff... because i had neglected my wife duties and hadnt cleaned kitchen, bedroom, or washed Joey's clothes. LOL so i busted it so he could have nice clean stuff and I cleaned up as fast as I could so I could go back to crafting!!!!!
Im obsessed with it~ :)
As I said will update with pictures tomorrow...for now time to convince Mr. Wonderful to go for a ride on the motorcycle :)

Challenges

They beat us til we are blue in the face,
They are the reason we cant escape
For a moment to take the time to breathe,
And realize life may not be what it seems.
They make us seem inferior even if we
Are at the top of the world. They tell us
We cant win and take all of our faith.
They leave us begging for God's sweet
Grace.

It is in these times we must take a leap.
Plunging into what may seem a great unknown
Deep. It is then we find God's true light and will
Have no fear. For it's our prayers God always hears.

weekend catch up and a date day to die for.....

Time to catch up! I had a wonderful weekend with my step daughters! Saturday we went to a wedding vow renewal for a friend of mine. After it was off to celebrate tax free weekend! I bought my girls some back to school clothes! Since the small town of Lawrenceburg only has a Walmart and a Goodwill for clothes shopping, we hit up thse 2 stores. With a little over $100, these girls got 5 pairs of pants, 2 skirts, 4 pairs of leggings, 2 dresses, and 19 shirts! I felt like I was queen of shopping!! After it was time to go home and cook supper for my super hungry husband and father-in-law! Chili dogs for the win! Sunday the girls went home and I got some much needed cleaning done! :) My bedroom is absolutely spotless and close to beautiful! :) Needs some more pictures and paint!! :)

Today I spent the day with my wonderful husband...
We live in the small town of Lawrenceburg, so we drove about 45 minutes North to the strip mall of Spring Hill, TN. There we were did some real shopping with some gift cards we had left over from our wedding! :) Couldn't get any better than this! I love giftcards about as much as I love shopping!
We bought several items for our house and even got him a new little toy for his computer. Very happy with our purchases and as I am writing this, I am editing some pictures for our 16 new picture frames! :)  So I figure I would write in here and post some pictures from my day. We enjoyed a little romantic lunch at Olive Garden.

Joey enjoyed his chicken parmesan. And I enjoyed my chicken flatbread. Of course Little Joey Bear (good luck charm) was pictured with it.

Haha! I'll have to explain Joey Bear another time. He's just a silly little buddy that I keep in my purse and has been many places with me and Joey.

Such a simple day was wonderful. I feel so blessed to be with such a wonderful man. Life doesn't get much better than what I have. A car ride alone is all we need to have a good time. I feel like some of our best memories are just driving around! The car ride back we laughed as we picked on each other and then planned more of what to do with our new purchases. We adore life and have so much in store in the future.

first blog....ever!!!!!!

Hello All!
Let me begin by saying that I do not know why I am here, nor do I have a clue of what I will say.
I guess I am sick of the facebook trend and would like a place where I may truly post things. I will probably post everything from poems to songs to daily ramblings of what I am thinking. I will also post recipes, craft ideas, all sorts of things I find fun and want to do.
For starters, I'd like to tell a little about me. My name is Rachel Mashburn and I am 22 years old. I am a recently married wife to, in my opinion, the most wonderful man in the entire world. I love him more than words can express and I could not live without him. I am also lucky to now have two of the most BEAUTIFUL step daughters in the entire world. They are so wonderful and I feel very blessed to have them. I hvae always wanted to adopt kids and I finally get my chance! :) I could never replace their mother and nor would I want to, but I hope to do the best I can to be someone else that can love, care, and support them. They deserve the best in the world, as well as my husband, and I want to be sure to try and do all I can to provide them a perfect life.

I am currently in school and will soon be finished! I cannot wait to finish up! I feel I have been in school for far too long and have really worked hard to do well. I will soon be working as a social worker in a gerontology (working with the elderly) field. My husband is going to school to be a mortician, so as awful as it sounds...we will kinda be able to tag team with our work.

As of right now, I do not know what else to say. I cant wait to post actual fun stuff! I don't know if anyone will even read this.... but I want it to be fun! I hope to be able to post stuff ( in the future ) that can help aleast one person. Thats all that really matters. This is simply a way for me to practice a passion I love! This of course is writing. I am not professional by ANY means, yet I truly adore it.

For anyone who may stumble across this...and actually read it.... thank you and stay tuned :)
